We’re Still Serving

The concept for Veterans Title, Inc. was developed by Larry Johnson, a retired Army Officer, who decided on a second career as an attorney, and Kris Riley, a Warrant Officer’s spouse, who worked in the title insurance industry. Kris wanted to open her own title insurance agency where her hard work and caring attitude would benefit her customers, and Larry wanted to provide quality settlement services and insure his clients understood the terms of the most expensive purchase of their lives.  Larry and Kris also wanted to take special care of veterans and their families who had themselves sacrificed so much for America.

Working together they opened a small boutique title insurance and settlement services company where customers receive individual attention to their specific needs and transactions. Twelve years later, Veterans Title continues to provide quality real estate settlement services to borrowers in the Northern Virginia Area and discounted prices on title insurance premiums to veterans and their families.

Our customers come primarily from word of mouth referrals and repeat business, so we strive to build long-term relationships and insure you are provided great service at reasonable prices. Our business continues to grow despite a down turn in the real estate market that forced many settlement companies and title agencies to close. Ours is a family atmosphere where our customers know that we care about them and their transactions. If you are purchasing a home, selling, or refinancing an existing loan, consider us to handle your settlement. Our dedicated staff is committed to you and we will work diligently to provide you, a prompt, informed, competent, and accurate closing.

“a fabulous sense of humor, but don’t get him started on war stories”

Courtney wouldn’t get a fraction of the things done she needed to if it wasn’t for her awesome ability and sense of dedication. Courtney coordinates all of the details of your closing with a variety of parties including real estate agents, termite inspectors, loan officers, loan processors, and the lender’s closing department.  She obtains the title abstract, prepares the preliminary closing disclosure, performs the title examination, prepares the title insurance binder, resolves any unreleased deeds of trusts, judgments, or other blemishes on title, makes sure the closing is scheduled and that all necessary documents are ready to be signed by the seller and buyer. Our customers constantly rave about Courtney’s professionalism, expertise, and helpful attitude, to which Larry has only one thing to say “Shhh, don’t say that so loud that she hears it. 🙂 ”

Veterans Title wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for Courtney, and believe me, Larry knows it.  Call us and put her amazing abilities to work for you.
